The bid validation decision is initiated by the receipt of the final bid request. The goal is to identify any requirements that preclude bidding.

Requirements that might preclude biding are known as “show stoppers” – for example changes in requirements you cannot meet, an unreasonable schedule, unacceptable performance warranties or penalties.

Another show stopper following receipt of the final bid request might be reliable information coming to light that the bid outcome is ‘wired’ or has been largely or finally decided in favour of another bidder.

Explain no bid decisions to customers in a manner that enhances your future or immediate position. Explaining why your organisation is unable to meet the requirement, quality standard or expectations of either the customer’s or your organisation.
